Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners Book Review
By Ken in Reviews on Friday, November 9, 2012

4 Sunflowers Media recently sent me their new book, Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners. The new children book (for ages three to seven) features hamster-like creatures called Fuzzwippers. The kid-friendly animals are from the land of Fuzzwippers. The imaginary creatures reach out to children or anyone who needs a friend, assuring them that they are wanted and needed. The kids and I found the book delightful. It’s an excellent addition for you kid’s library. Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners is available now for $8.99.

The story and the illustrations in Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners are wonderful. The book was written by Marilynn Halas, and illustrated by Jeremy Provost. In this book, Katherine and her Fuzzwipper friend, Fuzzoola, help the other children communicate with their Fuzzwippers buddies. At the end of the book, there is also a list of listener tips for kids.

Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners is the second book in the ten-book Fuzzwippers storybook series. The first book, Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers, is also an excellent children book. It introduced the friendly and magical Fuzzwipper creatures. The book series facilitates children’s social-emotional development by helping kids learn the skills they need to live happy and balanced lives.

Each story book in the Fuzzwippers series focuses on a different life skill. The book covers topic like how to be a good listener and playing fair. Through engaging storytelling, children are guided and supported by a friendly and magical Fuzzwipper creature, which always assures them that “they are loved, no matter what.”

According to the press material, Fuzzwippers were born from a story the author (Marilynn Halas) made up for her six-year old daughter. Marilynn’s daughter returned from school looking tired and overwhelmed. So Marilynn told her daughter a story. She had some gloves with pompoms on them and there was a loose one in her pocket. Marilynn took it out and gave it to her daughter as though it was a living creature. When she held it close to her, the daughter smiled and Marilynn knew she had a good idea for a book.

Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers by Marilynn Halas (book review)

Fuzzwippers are friendly creatures that reach out to anyone who needs to be assured they are wanted and needed. Children of all ages will be fascinated by these new-found friends who whisper to them in the language of Imaginarius and accompany them wherever they go. Introduce your children to their very own Fuzzwippers! Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers is the first book of the Fuzzwipper series which promotes self-esteem, socio-emotional health, and life skills for children through the power of story.

My Thoughts
Hello, We’re The Fuzzwippers, by Maryilynn Halas has a great message for kids, “You are loved, no matter what.” It is a great feeling for kids to know that no matter how overwhelming this world can be at times they will always be loved. I think the best part about children’s books in general is that they are a great reminder for parents and caregivers of the true important things to teach your children. This book says it loud and
clear in six easy words, “You are loved, no matter what.”

I believe this book is the introduction to the idea of the Fuzzwippers and there will be more books in the series where they will introduce individual Fuzzwippers, their buddies and their adventures. This first book, Hello, We’re The Fuzzwippers did not have a story or plot. It was very general about the Fuzzwippers themselves and the book seemed a little confusing to me because I really was waiting for a story to form, but it didn’t. It did set up the concept of where the Fuzzwippers came from, what they can do, that they are not to replace family or friends, and that they can be a security for your child.

Keeping in mind the fact that I knew there was not a story for my four-year-old son to follow I asked without sharing my thoughts what he though and what the book was about. He did get the message the author was trying to convey, he said, “ he liked it and you are loved no matter what.” That was the most important part therefore we will be looking forward to other books in this series. The illustrations are bright and colorful and were my son’s favorite part.

Book Description: Fuzzwippers are imaginary creatures that reach out to children or anyone who needs a friend, assuring them that they are wanted and needed. The stories deal with common insecurities such as bullying and body image. Fuzzwipper books and their embodiment in plush provide a mixture of literary, visual, tactile and role-play experience. For children in primary grades.

Mary’s Review: Come meet the Fuzzwippers. They are your new imaginary friends and are there to help you through anything and everything. They will help you through the good times and the bad. They speak a very special language and live in a very special land. Best of all they are always there, will travel anywhere to help you and will love you forever.

The illustrations are wonderful and the kids absolutely love them.

I recommend this book for ages 4-8.

Review: Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers
September 24, 2012
Title: Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers
Author: Marilynn Halas
Illustrator: Jeremy Provost
Series: Fuzzwippers #1

Summary: Fuzzwippers are friendly creatures that reach out to anyone who needs to be assured that they are wanted and needed. This book is the first in a new series for children, and introduces the new characters. Each book focuses on a different life skill—everything from how to be a good listener to playing fair. Through engaging storytelling, children are guided and supported by a friendly and magical Fuzzwipper creature, which always assures them that “they are loved, no matter what.”
My Thoughts: The Fuzzwippers are adorable, cuddly little creatures that a sure to brighten any child’s day. While this one just serves to introduce the characters, the very last page reminds children, “You are loved, no matter what.” That made me smile, and I look forward to seeing the future books with more focused themes, such as the upcoming Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners.

The illustrations are adorable. Very colorful, and a little silly, too. Children are sure to enjoy seeing what these cute, lovable little creatures are up to!
Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers by Marilynn Halas is a story that introduces a new set of adorable characters aimed at making kids smile. While this one reads just like that – and introduction to something new – it closes with lots of warm fuzzies (appropriately, I think) and leaves the reader – and the reader’s children – looking forward to encountering these creatures in future installments.

The Reviews Keep Coming…

by on September 25th, 2012

Hello, We’re The Fuzzwippers

4 Sunflower Media has just began publishing a new series of 10 storybooks, written by Marilynn Halas and illustrated by Jeremy Provost, that facilitate a child’s social-emotional development by helping them learn the life skills they need to live a happy and balanced life. The first book in the series, Hello, We’re The Fuzzwippers was released earlier this year and introduces us and our children to the Fuzzwippers.
Here is the synopsis of Hello, We’re The Fuzzwippers from the back cover of the book:

Welcome to the Land of the Fuzzwippers!

Fuzzwippers are friendly creatures that reach out to anyone who needs to be assured that they are wanted and needed. Children of all ages will be fascinated by these new-found friends who whisper to them in the language of Imaginarius and accompany them wherever they go. Introduce your children to their very own Fuzzwippers!

This story is absolutely adorable and a wonderful addition to any child’s or elementary school’s library. With bullying being so prominent–being reminded that “they are loved, no matter what” is vital. Imaginary friends are such an important part of a young child’s life and they can provide support during those times parents can’t be there. The Fuzzwippers are really a cute idea since they just look like little puff balls, it is really easy for a child to imagine and remember their own Fuzzwipper is with them (if need be, you could really find a puff for them to keep with them, giving them that extra support)–I wonder what your child’s Fuzzwipper looks like and what its name is. My son’s is black & orange (his favorite colors) and he hasn’t settled on a name yet. I love that Fuzzwippers help give a child more confidence and help put them at ease in difficult situations–just the way only an imaginary, positive friend can. It is also written at a level that a beginning reader can read and the illustrations really help bring the book to life. It is a good introduction to the Fuzzwippers and the positive messages they will be teaching throughout the series.

The second book in the series, Fuzzwippers Find Good Listener is scheduled to be released on September 24, 2012. This story helps children learn how to be a good listener. I haven’t seen this book yet, but I am sure it is great, especially given the important lesson that it is teaching! So important!

Be sure to keep an eye on the Fuzzwipper website–I have a feeling that it is going to have some great support and information on it in the near future. Plus, watch for the next 8 books, as they are released with more positive lessons for our children.

Thank you to Goodman Media for my sample used in this review, opinions are honest, review by Michelle.

A Review of “Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers” by JumpinBeans

by on September 17th, 2012

Meet the Fuzzwippers
The latest book I have been flipping through is, Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers by Marilynn Halas.
This is a colorful book that tells us about the Fuzzwippers coming from the Land of the Fuzzwippers to meet all the kids…

They come to bring a message…
All of the kids are so excited and sit around listening, waiting to hear what they have to say…

They talk about being quiet, so they can go anywhere with you… from bed to school and on all of the adventures in between.

One reason I like this book is because it says they are there to help you feel more comfortable.. and that when you are more secure, everyone feels better!
The best part? They totally bring attention to the fact they have no mouths…
With that, you have to know that the fuzzwippers don’t actually “TALK” but rather they quote” Speak right to your imagination!”
The end of the book even includes a couple blank pages..
The kids can use it to draw their own fuzzwipper, or to even write a story about them!
This was the first book in the Fuzzwippers series, sort of a “get to know” book.
I can not wait to see more from this,a as the second book is about listening!

Oh, I guess you would like to know the message that they were sent to bring….

YOU ARE LOVED, NO MATTER WHAT.

NEW STORYBOOK SERIES HELPS CHILDREN BUILD CRITICAL LIFE SKILLS

Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners to be published on September 24.

This fall, just in time for the changing of the season, 4 Sunflowers Media will publish Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners ($8.99, ages 3-7) by Marilynn Halas, illustrated by Jeremy Provost, the second in a collection of ten storybooks that facilitate children’s social-emotional development by helping children learn the skills they need to live happy and balanced lives.

Each story book in the Fuzzwippers series focuses on a different life skill—everything from how to be a good listener to playing fair. Through engaging storytelling, children are guided and supported by a friendly and magical Fuzzwipper creature, which always assures them that “they are loved, no matter what.”

Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners follows Fuzzoola the Fuzzwipper and Katherine as they share their adventures and stories, and set out to help others learn how to communicate with their favorite buddies. A list of listener tips for kids is located at the end of the book, including tips such as “listen with your whole body” and “take turns talking.”

The Fuzzwippers were introduced to children earlier this year in Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers. They are imaginary creatures that reach out to children or anyone who needs a friend, assuring them that they are wanted and needed. Fuzzwippers appear at the change of each season.

“Fuzzwippers were born from a story I made up for my daughter, Elizabeth, when she was about 6 years old,” said Marilynn Halas. “She came out of school looking tired and overwhelmed and I did what I always did, I told her a story. My gloves had pompoms on them and there was a loose one in my pocket. I took it out and gave it to her as though it was a living creature. More Fuzzwipper Reviews

by on September 6th, 2012

http://craftyzoowithmonkeys.blogspot.com/2012/07/meet-fuzzwippers-book-review.html

Hey Everyone! I recently reviewed a children’s book entitled “Hello, We’re the Fuzzwippers” and it was adorable! As you can see, my little GodMonkey (God-child, I am not saying that she is God!) loved it. The pictures were from the humteenth time she had looked through it after we read it together.

The story is introducing the Fuzzwippers, which is the first book in a series of children’s books and it’s adorable. The basic essences is that they are always with you when you need them. I think it’s an adorable concept and I couldn’t help but think when I read it that I needed a little Fuzzwipper to keep in my van!

You can get your own little Fuzzwipper….. I mean, a Fuzzwipper for your little one! Click here to find out more about them!!! I really think that they are adorable and the concept is even better!
Fuzzwippers come in four colors and will soon have a playset to encourage Monkey imagination.

I think this book, along with a Fuzzwipper will make a great birthday or Christmas gift. We enjoyed going through and finding the Fuzzwippers throughout the pages with the children pictured. It’s a great tie in for how God is always with you as well.

I want to say a big, huge thank you to the author, Marilynn Halas who not only sent me a copy for review, but so sweetly autographed it as well! The book is published by 4 Sunflowers Media, LLC and you can check them out here.
